Description
Polydextrose is a randomly bonded glucose polymer synthesized from glucose, sorbitol and citric acid. It is a cream-white, free-flowing powder with a mild, slightly tangy taste and outstanding water solubility, dissolving at very high concentrations to form clear solutions. The human digestive system only partially breaks down its bonds, so it behaves as a soluble prebiotic fiber while contributing very few calories. It is best known as a multifunctional bulking agent: it recreates the mouthfeel, texture and body that sugar, fat and starch normally provide, which makes it a cornerstone ingredient in reduced-calorie and sugar-free products. Manufactured under GB 25541-2010 and FCC standards, it delivers consistent functionality across long production campaigns. Its mild prebiotic activity adds an extra wellness benefit to low-calorie foods and drinks worldwide. It is packed in multi-layer kraft paper bags with food-grade PE inner liners, net 25 kg, and keeps for 24 months in an airtight container in a cool, dry place. Because it adds body without sweetness, it also lets formulators cut both sugar and fat in the same recipe. In practice it blends into doughs, batters and creams at the same stage where sugar would normally be added, so existing recipes need only a one-for-one trial. Its mild tanginess also complements fruit-flavored products. The product is manufactured under strict hygiene controls with documented test results for purity, heavy metals and microbial safety, ready for audit when customers require. How Polydextrose works: the polymer is built from glucose units randomly bonded with sorbitol and citric acid, creating a molecule too complex for human enzymes to fully digest. The undigested portion acts as soluble fiber, while the molecule's bulk and water-binding capacity recreate the mouthfeel, creaminess and structure that sugar and fat normally provide. This is what makes polydextrose unique: it is a texture ingredient first and a fiber second, which is why it appears in everything from sugar-free candies to reduced-fat ice cream. Practical guidance: in baked goods it replaces sugar solids with only modest sweetness change, so recipes often add a small amount of high-intensity sweetener to rebalance; in beverages it dissolves at very high concentrations, letting formulators cut syrup solids; in dressings and sauces it adds body without calories; and in frozen desserts it suppresses ice crystal growth while keeping the product scoopable. Because it is mildly acidic, formulators should verify the final pH of acid-sensitive products. Quality assurance: manufactured to GB 25541-2010 and FCC IV with non-GMO raw materials, with polydextrose content, pH, ash and microbiology tested per batch and documented for buyers. The 25 kg bags are multi-layer kraft with food-grade PE liners, and the 24-month shelf life provides stable supply for multi-year product lines. Specification highlights: it is packed in 25kg/bag with a minimum order quantity of 1000kg. Certificates of analysis accompany every shipment, and sample supply, specification customization and flexible payment terms are available for qualified buyers, supported by the standardized seven-step service process from inquiry to after-sales support. Compliance and quality at a glance: the product is manufactured under the standards referenced in its specification sheet, and every batch is tested for identity, purity, heavy metals and microbiology before release. Batch records, test reports and certificates are kept and supplied for buyer qualification, audit and regulatory filing, and the product is stored and shipped in its original packaging to preserve quality through the supply chain. For industrial buyers, this documented quality system means one qualification covers years of consistent supply, with the specification sheet serving as the contractual reference for every delivery.
Applications
In sugar-free candies and chocolates it provides the body and chew that polyols alone cannot. Bakers use it in cakes, muffins and biscuits to replace fat and sugar while keeping the crumb moist. In beverages and dairy desserts it contributes smoothness and stabilizes texture. Ice cream and frozen desserts rely on it to maintain scoopability when sugar is reduced, and nutrition bars, sauces and dressings use it as a calorie-free bulking and texturizing agent.
Advantages
Few ingredients can replace sugar, fat and starch at the same time; polydextrose does all three, allowing formulators to cut calories and improve nutrition claims without rebuilding recipes from scratch. Its very high solubility and clear solutions make it easy to dose in liquid systems, and its established safety and global regulatory acceptance reduce approval friction for new product launches. Backed by a 24-month shelf life and steady supply, it is a low-risk building block for reduced-calorie innovation.

PRODUCT NAME: Polydextrose
GRADE TYPE OF PRODUCT: Fibers® C, Fibers® I and Fibers® II ACCORDING WITH GB T25541-2010/ FCC IV
DESCRIPTION
Polydextrose is a randomly bonded condensation polymer of D-glucose with some bound sorbitol and a
suitable acid. It is a soluble dietary fiber and a premium low-calorie bulking agent used to provide body and texture in reduced-calorie and low-calorie foods. It is easy to use in a variety of applications to replace all or part of the sweetener solids and replace full caloric bulking agents in those formulations.
It is very soluble in water (more than 80g/ 100ml around 20℃), but only sparingly soluble to insoluble in most organic solvents.
